Job Description

As our Technical Program Manager, Equipment Management you will be responsible for driving change in our organization and supporting Manufacturing Operations and other cross-functional departments to implement and develop Equipment Management processes. You will play a critical role to centralize and standardize our Equipment Lifecycle Program and ensuring operational availability of all assets. You will support our leaders, engineers, and technicians across Logistics, General Assembly, Prototype, Manufacturing Engineering, and other departments. You will lead equipment activities to develop industry best practices and build and ramp up our equipment management team.

Responsibilities

  • Centralizing Zoox equipment portfolio and managing all relevant information
  • Developing, managing, and monitoring equipment & asset maintenance systems
  • Create a Maintenance ticket issue system (i.e. SAP, JIRA) to track and manage the Equipment issues 
  • Defining maintenance schedules and establishing and maintaining equipment spare parts inventory
  • Plan, monitor, and report related budgets/costs
  • Ensure equipment availability and develop emergency response plans
  • Managing third-party vendors for maintenance and installation activities   
  • Lead and provide customer service to the Engineering and Operations departments and managers.
  • Develop & maintain proper documentation of all necessary procedures
  • Developing total productive maintenance systems (TPM) and training and coaching operational teams
  • Implement Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) tracking and reporting
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team on new equipment purchases
  • Collaborate closely with the Facilities team on planning and executing equipment set up and relocation
  • Collaborate closely with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure standards are implemented.
  • Ensures project/department milestones/goals are met 

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations and engineering environment
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance planning and execution 
  • 3+ years in managing and supervising equipment technicians 
  • Experience with high scale industry manufacturing (i.e. automotive, aerospace, etc) and the necessary integration with related functions such as logistics, quality, facility,
  • 3+ years of experience in SAP or other Equipment Management Systems experience
  • Experience with project or program management across different platforms 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure planning and procurement processes
  • Exposure to manufacturing plant improvement projects
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and lean methodologies 
  • SAP or other Equipment Management Systems experience
  • Coupa or other Procurement Systems (SAP)
  • An ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience
  • Ability to manage confidential information
