IT Business Analyst

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.
CFS is collaborating with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with new groundbreaking high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for the implementation and support of business information systems across multiple departments at CFS. The BA work in the IT Business Applications team and work to identify problems and opportunities within CFS and ultimately contribute to providing solutions that help achieve the business' goals by translating business needs into IT solutions in collaboration with the IT colleagues.

This team member will:

• Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
• Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business need
• Work with business stakeholder to define acceptable solution to urgent needs
• Document use cases and business processes
• Work with the Project Manager in the prioritization effort with the business
• Document and maintain the documentation about business processes
• Work with the IT colleagues to ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
• Work with the process owners to define test scenarios
• Perform user acceptance testing with business stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Information Technology or Business Administration or equivalent experience
• Specific Business Analyst certification are a plus
• Experience working with senior decision makers
• Familiarity with foundational business processes lincluding finance, supply chain and manufacturing in Engineering environments
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis or a related field
• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a critical eye for detail
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to see the big picture.
• Have excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills.
• Able to adapt quickly to changing client requirements.

Additional experience and/or qualifications:

• Experience with Tier 3 ERP, possibly Odoo
• Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
• Ability to perform activities such as typing, standing, sitting for extended periods of time
• Willingness to occasionally travel
