Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.
CFS is collaborating with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with new groundbreaking high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. As a member of the shipping and receiving team, this individual is responsible for assisting the lead in meeting company objectives through  warehouse and materials management.  You will ensure timely processing of shipping, receiving and material deliveries. 

This team member will:

  • Maintains materials, equipment, and supplies required to meet CFS shipping and receiving related functions
  • Manages outgoing and incoming domestic and international shipments to ensure all shipments meet CFS packaging and transit specifications
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records and ensure accuracy of orders and record verified information in CFS’s ERP system
  • Obey all CFS Safety guidelines and policies on the loading dock and in the warehouse
  • Maintains physical condition of loading dock 
  • Assist in maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets for incoming materials.  
  • Ensure compliance with CFS HAZMAT storage and shipping plans
  • Execute incoming inspection of some components in coordination with the CFS QA/QC team.
  • Other tasks as reasonably requested by the Shipping and Receiving Lead
  • Coordinate with Inventory associate to meet the goals of the production team
  • Ability to operate various MHE and obtain a DOT License

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • Desire to begin and grow a career in supply chain
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Some experience in warehouse or production experience (preferred)
  • Minimum of  2 years experience in ERP functionality (preferred)
  • Experience in a start-up or high growth environment (preferred)
  • Obey all CFS Safety guidelines and policies on the loading dock and in the warehouse; correct any unsafe conditions or behaviors whiles maintaining a clean work environment
  • Receive and verify purchase orders and stock items appropriately
  • Pick and verify kits
  • Complete physical inventories, cycles counts, random or receipt audits and reconciliations
  • Research and correct inventory discrepancies and perform adjustments where needed
  • Ability to operate various Material Handling Equipment and obtain a DOT License
  • Package shipments for transport and create shipping documentation

Additional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Perform activities such as stooping, typing, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, and strong magnets
  • Willingness to occasionally work nights or weekend work
  • Ability to relocate and/or commute to our site in Milpitas, CA
