Job Description

Who we are looking for:We are looking for a Compliance Manager to support our growing insurance business across all product lines and geographies. The role includes legal and regulatory compliance, carrier audit management, corporate org structure and entry into new markets, and being our in house expert on forms, licensing, and registrations.

What you can look forward to:

  • Working closely with industry experts to build new products in a fast-growing insurtech company.
  • Reviewing and approving new forms and endorsements being introduced by the lines of business, and helping craft new forms for new products.
  • Ensuring internal processes for quoting, binding, and issuing policies are compliant with regulatory and legal obligations.
  • Advising on corporate entity formation and corporate structure for entry into new markets and/or territories.
  • Staying abreast of regulatory changes that would impact our corporate compliance and governance structure.
  • Setting up the company to be a successful partner with Lloyd’s syndicates.
  • Owning the internal audit and carrier audit function; create and managing effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
  • Managing external counsel; procuring corporate insurance; maintaining subproducer documentation; corporate, state, and federal filings.
  • Working with Claims TPAs to ensure tight regulatory compliance, a high level of customer service, and preventing over indemnification.
  • Improving processes and driving efficiency.

What you likely need to do the job well:

  • MGA and Broker experience: We operate as both a Managing General Agent and a broker, and have different compliance obligations across these divisions. Claims experience a plus.
  • Critical thinker: You can quickly synthesize large volumes of (often conflicting) information, and develop a thesis. You can clearly articulate your proposal with supporting data.
  • Operational Capability: We are a startup and need people who are ready to get their hands dirty and are biased towards action.
  • Self-starter: You can independently lead and manage projects. You know when to ask for help, but also trust your analytical frameworks.
  • A thinker and a doer: You can hold multiple stakeholders’ perspectives in your head, devise a solution, and then rapidly build consensus around that solution.
  • Customer service focus: You view and approach KWH partners with a relationship mindset being responsive and working together to solve problems.
