At Mill we are striving to build a better environment for all, as we take on climate and kitchen change.</div>We’re looking for a Full Stack React Native Engineer to join our Product Applications team—responsible for building and maintaining our end-to-end applications across mobile, web, cloud, and data systems. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and product managers to build seamless and impactful user experiences. This role will have a major influence on both technical architecture and product strategy.<h3>What You’ll Do</h3><ul><li style="font-weight:400;">Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of features—from architecture and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operations. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Build and maintain scalable, performant applications using React Native for mobile and full stack technologies across the web and backend. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Collaborate with product and design teams to create intuitive and polished user experiences. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Drive best practices in modern software engineering: CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, performance monitoring, and testing automation. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Help shape our mobile app strategy, including build automation, app release cycles, and feature flag management. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Design reliable, fault-tolerant APIs and contribute to secure, maintainable, and observable backend systems. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of growth, ownership, and continuous learning. </li></ul><h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3><ul><li style="font-weight:400;">3–5+ years of experience as a full stack engineer with exposure to both frontend (especially mobile) and backend systems. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Proficiency with React Native, Redux, and TypeScript, with experience shipping mobile apps to the App Store and Google Play. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Strong backend development skills, ideally using Python. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., CDK, Terraform) and cloud-native services (e.g., API Gateway, serverless functions, managed databases). </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Solid understanding of API design, asynchronous communication patterns, and robust error handling. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI), build tooling, and code quality enforcement (e.g., linters, formatters, testing frameworks). </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Passion for system reliability, including observability, alerting, tracing, and performance optimization. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, product-focused environment. </li></ul><h3>Preferred Skills</h3><ul><li style="font-weight:400;">Deep mobile experience: Native Modules, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), deep links, react-navigation, Tailwind CSS, websockets, and Fastlane. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Experience with feature flagging systems such as LaunchDarkly or Eppo. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Experience building production-grade serverless applications and working with real-time data or IoT integrations. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Familiarity with AWS IoT or equivalent cloud IoT services. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Experience designing role-based access control (RBAC) systems. </li><li style="font-weight:400;">Awareness of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or CPRA.</li></ul>The estimated base salary range for this position is $140k to $175k, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant.
