We’re also transforming the UK’s energy landscape by partnering with landowners and developers to build a 900MW portfolio of new grid-scale solar farms and battery storage assets.The Senior Solutions Architect plays a critical role in designing, developing, and integrating innovative, commercially viable, and technically robust energy solutions for Centrica Business Solutions’ customers. The role supports the sales lifecycle by enabling the development of customer-centric energy propositions—spanning solar PV, CHP, battery storage, and low-carbon heat—that reduce cost, improve sustainability, and enhance operational resilience.About the role:  This is a hands on role, but day to day managing a small number of junior solutions architects. You’ll be a pivotal part of a multidisciplinary team working across sales, engineering, delivery, and innovation. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:<ul><li>Design technically and commercially robust systems including CHP, BESS, heat pumps, and solar PV</li><li>Conduct detailed technical and financial assessments to inform low-carbon solutions for I&amp;C customers</li><li>Collaborate across teams to shape propositions that meet customer needs and business objectives</li><li>Produce technical specifications, feasibility studies, yield analysis and simulations</li><li>Support financial models (TCO, IRR, NPV, payback) to guide investment decisions</li><li>Translate complex technical concepts into customer-friendly commercial narratives</li><li>Provide governance through pre-sales and early delivery phases, ensuring solution integrity</li><li>Engage internal teams and external stakeholders with clarity, insight, and best practice</li><li>Stay at the cutting edge of low carbon, regulatory and market trends</li></ul>Here’s what we’re looking for:<ul><li>Vast in energy engineering, project development, or technical sales</li><li>Experience in CHP, solar PV, BESS, heat pump systems, and funded energy solutions</li><li>Strong commercial acumen with experience of PPAs, CPPAs, and ESCO models</li><li>Familiar with UK planning and regulatory processes (G98/G99, etc.)</li><li>Proficient in PVSol, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and CRM systems like Salesforce</li><li>A natural communicator, confident presenting to senior stakeholders</li><li>Experience of leading a small team</li><li>Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Energy Engineering (or equivalent experience)</li><li>Chartered Engineer (or working towards) desirable</li></ul><div>Why should you apply?       We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place.
