The Operators may be asked to provide relief duties for the Control Room Operator (if qualified), Outside Operator, and/or Water Treatment Facility Operator as required. The Operators must be able to work with others and assist in Overtime for other shifts as required.You will contribute to our team by: <ul><li>Ensuring the safe operation of all plant equipment throughout various operational situations, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators, air compressors, water treatment equipment, demineralizers, motors, pumps, fire suppression systems, and all other balance of plant auxiliary equipment.</li><li>Reading meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, fluid levels, and water chemistry to verify operating conditions.</li><li>Being able to Start, Stop, and manipulate equipment as directed.</li><li>Performing Chemical offloads in accordance with written procedures.</li><li>Communicating issues or non-routine items to the Control Room Operator and applying excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to help resolve issues.</li><li>Performing plant equipment Lock out Tag out program as directed.</li><li>Maintaining operational consistency across other crews and departments.</li><li>Ensuring compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations, as well as Corporate and Site-specific procedures to protect employees, contractors, community, and the environment.</li><li>Performing Preventative Maintenance as directed, and logging performance into Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).</li><li>Maintaining strong relationships with all crews and departments.</li><li>Operating heavy equipment such as a manlift and forklift as required.</li><li>Performing general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the appearance of the facility as directed.</li><li>Providing on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas as required.</li></ul>What you will bring to the role:   Education: <ul><li>Completed High School Diploma required.</li><li>Technical training related to the role is preferred. </li></ul>Experience and Skills: <ul><li>Experience as an Operator in a power plant is preferred.  </li><li>Experience as a Control Room Operator for Combined Cycle Plants is desirable.</li><li>Experience in water chemistry control, analysis of water conditions, water treatment facility operations, and chemical handling requirements is preferred.</li><li>Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations closed system steam generation, industrial safety, hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process control is desirable.</li><li>Extensive working knowledge of the power plant industry is desirable.</li></ul>Technical Skills: <ul><li>Solid ability to solve equipment, systems, and safety issues.</li><li>Gas Power Plant Operation and Maintenance experience.</li><li>Able to problem solve and troubleshoot operating issues at Gas Power Plant.</li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and help foster a positive team environment.</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Heavy industrial facility designated as a safety-sensitive location.</li><li>Physical mobility, including lifting and climbing, and ability to use PPE required.</li><li>The ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Working Outside.</li></ul>Additional Details:As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug test is required, subject to applicable law.To be considered for this role, you must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America.The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks, and criminal record check.               Capital Power employees that refer a successful candidate for this position are eligible for a $1000 Referral Reward!We believe that creating a culture that supports employees' physical, mental, financial, and social well-being is critical to our success.
