Key markets include head up displays for commercial airliners, helmet mounted displays for 4th &amp; 5th generation fast jet platforms, night vision for the dismounted soldier, and advanced electro-optics for airborne, maritime and vehicle platforms.  Our diverse product range are enabled by the development and application of innovative technologies and engineering solutions. Job Outline:To operate CNC machines, producing high quality parts, working to tight tolerances.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Setting and Operating CNC machines in a fully functioning Machine Shop.</li><li>Set up relevant machinery to ensure efficient production of precision components within correct dimensions that is suitable for further processing.</li><li>Have the ability to read and interpret complex design drawings</li><li>Ensure health and safety is adhered to and maintained within the workshop</li><li>Look at how the machine shop can improve ways of working to reach greater productivity.</li><li>Ensure that the required quality and operating standards are satisfied throughout each stage of manufacture to achieve optimum quality.</li><li>Instruct other employees in the operation of machinery and processes and assists other personnel in the department</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure that the equipment and work area is cleaned and maintained in accordance with the operator’s maintenance schedule and the required departmental standards</li><li>Support the business needs by operating across the whole department as required and to fully participate in ongoing process/business improvement programmes</li><li>Plan if necessary, and to produce one off type components and special project work which is outside the average production level of work.</li></ul>Personal Specification:It is essential that all candidates have the following:           <ul><li>Mechanical Engineering Technical Certification</li><li>NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Mechanical Engineering Qualification or Demonstrated Experience</li><li>Experience of NC Machining – setting and running</li><li>Understanding of health and safety in the workshop</li><li>Candidate flexibility may be required</li></ul>#Qioptiq #LI-ON1  Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
