Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance position is to ensure all company buildings are properly repaired and maintained. This person shows an aptitude and drive to grow his or her knowledge in carpentry, millwork, dry wall and plumbing trade skills. The Facilities Mechanic will have a strong work ethic and be able to communicate professionally with maintenance leadership to receive direction and give feedback. He or she is required to follow company policies and procedures with emphasis on safety and cGMP’s.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for working safely, following company policies and cGMP’s.
  • Responsible for monitoring and troubleshoot HVAC systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Responsible for monitoring boiler operations including testing for water quality.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining Compressed Air and Vacuum systems.
  • Responsible for minor electrical repairs (e.g., replacement of bulbs, ballasts and fixtures).
  • Responsible for plumbing repairs (e.g., repair of leaks in water lines and faucets, unclog drains). Capable of sweating copper and fixing potential compressed air line leaks throughout the facility.
  • Responsible for repairing walls, floors, baseboards and ceilings.
  • Responsible for preparing and for painting interior walls and production equipment as needed.
  • Participates in assigned projects within maintenance team.
  • Participates as safety leader in operations and contributes daily to the plant’s safety goals and KPI’s.
  • Capable of performing necessary paperwork duties as it relates to Quality documentation for supplement manufacturing and knows how to operate a computer to complete preventative or reactive maintenance work orders within the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Participates in all required training deemed essential to one’s job functions by the department leadership. 
  • Adheres and is trained to all Cal OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Willingly seeks company supported certified training to support the upkeep of manufacturing facilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, general education degree (GDE) or three years of Facilities maintenance experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a cGMP’s environment.
  • Knowledge of cGMP’s regulations.
  • 3+ years of facilities technician experience.
  • Working Knowledge of HVAC, Boiler Operations and Compressed Air equipment.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance is helpful.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and   decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Familiar with wood framing and dry wall construction.
  • Familiar with floor repair for coating and expansion joints.
