You will join a dynamic, motivated, and creative team with a broad range of experience and competencies. As part of our team, you will combine theory with practice, creating, testing, and validating new technologies to enable the energy transition.The research area in which you will work is mechanical design and explicit dynamics analysis of products for energy systems. It also includes other phenomena such as static mechanics, heat transfer, non-linear materials, and electromagnetic forces. As a market leader accelerating the evolution of the world’s energy system, we put substantial effort into research and development to constantly increase the quality and reliability of our products. You will be able to contribute to this development and create cutting-edge solutions.Your Responsibilities<ul><li>Propose, contribute to, and lead research and development projects for numerical simulations of products for energy systems.</li><li>Provide results for static and dynamic coupled thermomechanical simulations. Formulate clear conclusions and practical recommendations for the business. Report your work and findings in project documentation.</li><li>Collaborate globally with teams of researchers and engineers at Hitachi Energy to identify, analyze, and solve real-world challenges in optimizing designs for future-generation products.</li><li>Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the latest numerical analysis technologies, algorithms, and software packages. Recognize opportunities for their practical application in industrial conditions.</li><li>Actively promote your knowledge within the company and outside.</li><li>Collaborate with local and global external partners, including universities, startups, and vendors.</li><li>Disseminate your results in technical reports, scientific publications, research conferences, and patent applications.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanics, Material Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, dynamic and static analysis, material strength, and a basic understanding of typical manufacturing technologies.</li><li>Working experience (2+ years) with CAD/CAE modeling and FEM analysis. Knowledge of the commercial tools (e.g., Ansys, ABAQUS, LS/Dyna, COMSOL, CREO, …)</li><li>Understanding of FE algorithms, including linear and non-linear static, implicit and explicit dynamics (large deformation, short-circuit forces, seismic analysis, fluid-structure interaction), vibration (modal analysis, vibroacoustic, damping, …), fracture mechanics.
