The National Account Manager, Safeway/Albertsons is accountable for delivering a broad and deep relationship with Safeway and Albertsons, ensuring a longer term strategic relationship is maintained. The National Account Manager, Safeway/Albertsons, aims to increase market share and deliver incremental contributions using incentives, initiatives, and commitment programs. The role requires a highly motivated person that can proactively meet Safeway and Albertsons’ expectations and take a hands‐on approach to problem solving by using their initiative and available resources to provide customer proposals and solutions. The National Account Manager, Safeway/Albertsons will work with Safeway and Albertsons buyers, department VPs, and other personnel at Beyond to develop strategies to deliver against the strategic priorities of Beyond and Safeway and Albertsons. There is a strong preference that the National Account Manager, Safeway/Albertsons is located in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long term strategic relationships with key customers, establishing a sustainable platform for continued development of the Top‐to‐Top relationship.
  • Support the preparation of strategic plans, encompassing sales and marketing activities, using category, consumer, shopper, and market information.
  • Assist in the development of action plans to strengthen relationships with relevant parties at assigned account HQ(s).
  • Identify and explore commercial expansion opportunities.
  • Support annual planning, joint business planning, trade marketing budget and negotiations
  • Assist in the management of forecast accuracy for current and new products and execute new product launches
  • Collaborate with a large cross functional team including shopper insights, category management, supply chain, and R&D.
  • Monitor performance of strategic plans and evaluate successes, risks and opportunities and formulate plans to improve key indicators.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience of managing and expanding strategic accounts and relationships in the CPG industry
  • Experience managing Top-to-Top conversations with similar strategic accounts
  • Direct experience managing P&L
  • Experience leveraging syndicated data (Neilsen, IRI, Spins)
  • Extensive prior exposure to supporting and working with executive senior management
  • Strong listening, questioning and negotiation skills ‐ outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Disciplined time management and ability to work under pressure in a cross functional environment
  • Excellent proposal writing and presenting, project management and analytical skills
  • Advanced computer software proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint and data visualization)
  • Proficiency in analyzing information and making information-based recommendations

Other Qualifications

  • Strong strategic skills with experience in annual business planning.
  • Strong analytical skills: syndicated data analysis (IRI & Spins) and budget management.
  • Post promotion analysis.
  • Strong PC skills including MS Office.
  • Retail Link, Partners Online, and Blue Planner experience preferred.
  • Very strong team player, ability to work with cross-functional teams to get results.
  • Passion for Beyond Meat and it’s missions and goals
  • Ability to travel 40 –50%
