Do you want to learn about and work in the future energy economy? Quantumscape is looking for a Data Automation Engineer to implement an MES system at our QS0 battery factory in San Jose. The ideal candidate will have MES Data automation experience in the chemical, semiconductor, or battery manufacturing industries.
Responsibilities:
Develop a MES life cycle roadmap for harmonization of MES platforms as Quantumscape scales the manufacturing process.
Provide leadership and program management for external partners to deliver new capabilities and continuous improvement.
Lead the integration of MES with external systems such as process control systems, data storage warehouses, and analytical analysis software. Help integrate the follow of data from the line tools into the data storage warehouse.
Expand data automation lifecycle to enable phase appropriate implementation, realizing benefits of technologies in both early and late stages of product development.
Harmonization and coordination of your efforts between other teams such as Manufacturing, Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing Services, R&D, IS, and EHS.
Support Manufacturing and Operations by providing strategic direction and tactical support. Tackle day-to-day issues, assigning personnel as the need arises.
Develop and implement multi-year data automation roadmap including mission, goals, that align with business strategy and evolve with business needs.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
Experience with MES data process automation, design, process improvement, and project management.
Proven experience with MES data automation systems, SCADA, Sepasoft Ignition.
Strong skills to work in a matrix organization with excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills required.
Experience and exposure to Manufacturing equipment used in Semi-conductor, ceramic, or battery manufacturing.
Python knowledge a plus.
