Job Description

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

We are hiring a Facilities Technician to help build out a world-class R&D and pilot-production facility at QuantumScape. You will join a team charged with maintaining equipment and ensuring facility equipment uptime to help scale its operations to commercialize the company’s groundbreaking energy storage technology.
Responsibilities:
Executes daily, monthly, quarterly facilities & equipment inspections/maintenancesActs as a contact while on shift for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as neededMakes minor plumbing repairs, as necessaryCoordinates and assists with departmental and employee movesPreforms basic electrical work and resolves when an electrician is requiredPerforms maintenance duties as assigned by the facilities managerCarries out work orders in a timely manner per our computer maintenance management systemWorks directly with EH&S team to ensure a safe workplaceWorks with equipment maintenance team on projects regarding Facility and Manufacturing / R&D
Minimum Requirements:
Must have knowledge in HVAC, basic electricity, plumbing, fire life safety, hazardous waste, EH&S, project managementYou have a minimum 1-year experience in a lab R&D / Manufacturing environment as a Facilities Technician / Maintenance Technician or a technical degree from a 2-4 year program.You are committed to delivering high quality results and share our real passion for our mission.You can use basic computer software, including Microsoft Office, CMMS, BMS, BAS, ALC, Microsoft Word & Outlook, Excel, Auto CAD preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of timeMust be able to utilize/view a PC and/or monitorMust be able to lift 50lbsMust be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feetMust be able to work independently without direct supervision
