QuantumScape is located in San Jose, California working on new energy storage technology to allow electric vehicles to outperform internal combustion cars. Do you want to learn about and work on this critical part of the future energy economy? As part of our Cell Development team, you will work alongside scientists and engineers to refine and scale the production of next-generation batteries for electric vehicles.
RoleQuantumScape is seeking a highly motivated and experienced failure analysis engineer. You will develop new test methods and characterization techniques that probe performance and steer improvements to our novel solid-state battery components.
Required Experience & SkillsPhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or related field, with 5+ years industry experienceHands-on experience in failure analysis of materials and devicesProficiency in materials characterization and experimentationKnowledge of statistical approaches for analyzing large datasetsAbility to communicate clearly and candidly; strong affinity for teamworkComfortable working in a glovebox, dry room, or fume hoodReferences can attest to your curiosity, problem solving, and integrityYou thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changeYou share our passion for our mission
Highly DesiredDemonstrated experience leading failure analysis activities in a relevant industryProven expertise in characterizing physical and electrochemical properties of battery materialsFamiliarity with battery test methodsFluency in scripting languages for data analysis
