QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

QuantumScape is a start-up located in San Jose, California working on new energy storage technology to allow electric vehicles to outperform internal combustion cars. Our leap in energy density and recharge rate is enabled by a solid-state chemistry and cell architecture which also benefits safety. Our quick progress is due in part to a state-of-the-art laboratory facility, highly automated data collection and analysis, and a strong and clear set of values.
Do you want to learn about and work on this critical part of the future energy economy? As part of our Cell Development team, you will work alongside scientists and engineers to refine and scale the production of next-generation batteries for electric vehicles.
RoleQuantumScape is seeking an experienced and motivated process development engineer to join our R&D team. In this role you will drive the development and optimization of new fabrication methods for our novel solid-state battery devices.
Required Experience & SkillsPhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or related field, with 5+ years industry experienceHands-on experience leading process development of materials or devices in a relevant industryAbility to communicate clearly and candidly; strong affinity for teamworkComfortable working in a glovebox, dry room, or fume hoodReferences can attest to your curiosity, problem solving, and integrityYou thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changeYou share our passion for our mission
Highly DesiredExpertise in lamination or adhesion applications for layered devicesFamiliarity with battery materials and test methodsKnowledge of statistical techniques and scripting languages for data analysisExperience in designing and improving prototype process equipment
