Join our team.What you’ll doAs the Manager of the Motor Design Team, you will lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and optimization of electric motors for high-performance applications using Niron’s Iron Nitride magnets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electric motor design (including permanent magnet motors), proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation in electromechanical systems. We have a once-in-a-generation new magnetic material. We are building a world-class motor team, and we are looking for the person who will lead it.Team Leadership <ul><li>Lead, mentor and manage a team of motor design engineers to drive innovative solutions for our customers</li><li>Create a high-performing team by aligning work to clear goals that drive business results</li><li>Enable Niron’s culture by role modeling and integrating Niron’s values into how the team works</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally to bring together our innovative products into customer solutions</li></ul>Technical Oversight<ul><li>Guide the design and analysis of electric motors using FEA, electromagnetic simulation, and thermal modeling</li><li>Hold responsibility for approving technical documentation and test plans</li><li>Continuously push for innovation using latest materials and processes to achieve results</li></ul>Customer support and lifecycle engagement<ul><li>Support customers through the design and development lifecycles, including simulation, prototyping, and performance validation</li><li>Lead technical discussions with customer engineering teams to evaluate their system needs, identify design constraints, and propose actionable solutions</li></ul>Project and Stakeholder Management<ul><li>Manage all projects from concept to production for Motor Design team</li><li>Communicate with all levels of the organization effectively to present updates, customer requirements, market trends, and project statuses</li></ul>What we’re looking for<ul><li>Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field, with advanced degree (M.S.) preferred</li><li>Experience leading a team – industrial motor design team experience a plus</li><li>Expertise with Electromagnetic Finite Element Analysis</li><li>Experience with application-based motor design software tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, COMSOL)</li><li>Experience managing external vendors for custom motor projects</li><li>Experience or familiarity with various motor topologies (e.g., IPM, PMa-SynRM, VFMMs)</li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills that adapt to the audience (e.g., internal vs. customers)</li><li>Experience with automotive or aerospace standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-160) is a plus.</li></ul>Our pay and benefits<ul><li>Salary: $130,000 - $170,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills</li><li>Equity position in Niron via stock option grant</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Mental healthcare</li><li>401k plan with company match</li><li>Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays</li><li>Experience in a fun, high-performing, manufacturing environment</li></ul>
