Join our team.What you’ll doAs a Senior Electromagentic Engineer – Motor Design, you will be critical team member to develop high-performing electric motors designs using Iron Nitride Magnets. We have a once-in-a-generation new magnetic material. We are building a world-class motor team, and we are looking for its founding members.<ul><li>Technical Expertise and Design<ul><li>Design and optimize electric motors (including permanent magnet motors) using advanced electromagnetic simulation tools</li><li>Analyze magnetic circuits, flux paths, and torque production to meet performance targets</li><li>Evaluate the impact of magnetic materials on motor performance and efficiency</li><li>Document detailed designs, test reports and processes</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Modeling and Testing<ul><li>Use FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, Motor-CAD) to simulate electromagnetic behavior.</li><li>Perform thermal and loss analysis to ensure reliability and compliance with design specifications</li><li>Collaborate to build and test motor prototypes</li><li>Interpret data to validate and refine design</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Cross-functional collaboration<ul><li>Collaborate cross-functionally magnet and motor design teams to ensure alignment between motor-level and material-level performance</li></ul></li></ul>What we’re looking for<ul><li>Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering or related field</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of hands-on electric motor design experience with focus on electromagnetic analysis</li><li>Experience with application-based motor design software tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, COMSOL)</li><li>Familiarity with thermal modeling and mechanical integration</li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills that adapt to the audience (e.g., internal vs. customers)</li></ul>Our pay and benefits<ul><li>Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills</li><li>Equity position in Niron via stock option grant</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Mental healthcare</li><li>401k plan with company match</li><li>Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays</li><li>Experience in a fun, high-performing, manufacturing environment</li></ul>
