Working on a team designing motors using Niron’s Iron Nitride magnets, this position plays a critical role in advancing products for our customers. We have a once-in-a-generation new magnetic material. We are building a world-class motor team, and we are looking for its founding members.<ul><li>Technical Expertise and Hardware Design<ul><li>Design and develop motor controller hardware including power stages, gate drivers, and signal conditioning circuits</li><li>Select components and create schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium or OrCAD</li><li>Ensure designs meet electrical, thermal, and EMI/EMC requirements</li><li>Develop and deliver high-quality documentation, test reports, BOMs</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Testing and Documentation<ul><li>Design and execute test plans for firmware and motor control systems</li><li>Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, dynamometers) to validate performance and troubleshoot issues</li><li>Create repeatable, sustainable processes which are documented</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Cross-functional collaboration<ul><li>Collaborate cross-functionally magnet and motor design teams to ensure alignment between motor-level and material-level performance</li></ul></li></ul>What we’re looking for<ul><li>Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field</li><li>5+ years of motor control hardware design or power electronics</li><li>Experience with lab testing and debugging of high-voltage systems</li><li>Familiarity with thermal management and EMI mitigation techniques.</li><li>Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware interaction with hardware</li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills that adapt to the audience (e.g., internal vs. customers)</li></ul>Our pay and benefits<ul><li>Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills</li><li>Equity position in Niron via stock option grant</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Mental healthcare</li><li>401k plan with company match</li><li>Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays</li><li>Experience in a fun, high-performing, manufacturing environment</li></ul>
