Our team is successfully delivering complex healthcare, science, and infrastructure projects, including:<ul><li>Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital</li><li>Kettering General Hospital – New Energy Centre (sustainable hospital infrastructure)</li><li>RAF Lakenheath Health &amp; Infrastructure Programme (AECOM has secured an 8-year PM/CM framework with USVF)</li><li>Astex Therapeutics (science and research facility)</li><li>University of Cambridge - Whittle Laboratory (science and research facility)</li></ul>As a Project Director you will lead an integrated team on a significant component of a large complex Life Science, Health or Tertiary Education projects.You will need to have experience from a consultancy or client organisation (Science or Health Sector preferable) with the ability to undertake a lead role on medium to large sized projects, with minimal support whilst providing line management support as part of your duties.The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design process, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.Within the role of Project Director your duties will include but not limited to the following.<ul><li>Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery</li><li>Undertake Line Management and or supervisory responsibilities, where you will support, motivate, and mentor members of your team. Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training</li><li>Contribute to the management of the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards</li><li>Positively engage with the construction and design team and work collaboratively to mitigate risks, avoid claims and disputes whilst maintaining meticulous records to allow you to quickly respond to issues arising and form an informed and balanced opinion having due regard to contract obligations.</li><li>Co-ordinate, review and ensure that there has been a sign off of all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue</li><li>Lead the development of strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team</li><li>Be the main interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)</li><li>Lead the management of design on large complex projects</li><li>Lead the management of tender documents, appraisals, and negotiations on large complex projects</li><li>Lead the formulation and management of construction contracts on large complex projects</li><li>Progress business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities.</li><li>To support ‘winning’ clients, being responsible for the quality of work outputs, effective communication, and demonstration of professional behaviours</li><li>Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team</li><li>Manage project finances, resourcing, audits, and reviews, to a portfolio of projects being led within the cost centre</li><li>Formulate fee proposals</li><li>Support Project Managers through Professional Chartership</li><li>Active involvement in recruitment and retention activities</li><li>Ensure you complete all relevant training</li></ul>If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you.
