The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines and data visualizing tools that integrate data streams from across the production floor, helping scientists and engineers extract insight. This position is an exciting role that will collaborate with a number of teams, including Data Analytics, Production, and Yield Enhancement. A successful candidate will provide support for a data-driven approach to understanding factors contributing to variability and production targets across QuantumScape as it grows.
What you will do:
Develop and maintain a robust data pipeline by aggregating data from various sources across the company.
Create dashboards for monitoring important metrics and processes.
Assemble and help analyze large datasets, working with scientists to visualize this data in a relevant way.
Write python libraries to streamline common data analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience working in a production/manufacturing environment.
2-5+ years of full-time experience developing in python for scientific applications.
Expert knowledge in data manipulation and computation using NumPy/Pandas/SciPy, and data visualization with Plotly and Matplotlib packages.
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
Experience working in a cloud environment and interacting with APIs, logging, and deployment.
Experience using git and hosted services such as GitHub for version control, collaboration and code review.

Any of the following is particularly helpful:
Working knowledge of JMP and JSL.
Prior experience with statistical analysis in a production/manufacturing environment.
