QuantumScape is seeking a Facilities Sr Director to join our rapidly growing Manufacturing Organization.
As the Facilities Director, you will coordinate building construction, lead all aspects of facility design, and establish our building maintenance plans. The ideal candidate will have experience running facilities in the chemical, semi-conductor, or battery manufacturing industries.
Job Responsibility Supervise construction activities of our QSO EV battery plant by working directly with engineering firms and construction contractors. Handle all contracts to ensure they are reviewed on a regular basis and are bid out as required. Responsible for strengthening and encouraging the construction team’s safety through team engagement, ownership, accountability and behavior-based safety efforts. In collaboration with various departments, perform annual facility assessment and inspections, document findings, perform cost-estimates, schedule and coordinate construction projects. Partners with EHS and Equipment Managers to ensure the site is kept in compliance with local, state and regulatory agencies. Drive the facilities infrastructure design to enable quick and lower effort lab restructuring and equipment moves. Ensure extra capacity and extendability. You will choose and supervise facilities equipment maintenance contractors. You will research facilities issues by analyzing facilities data from our building management system (BMS) and other sources then suggest measures to solve these issues.
Knowledge and Skills Required Bachelor’s degree and/or 15+ years of Facilities Management experience with demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth within the construction/facilities industry. Knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel and AutoCAD. Compliance knowledge of building codes, fire/life safety laws, and OSHA requirements desired. Knowledge of commercial manufacturing building mechanical systems, including domestic water supply and distribution, high and low pressure compressed air, cooling water systems, gas distribution, chemical distribution, and HVAC and HEPA filter systems.
