<div><b>Position Overview</b>:  </div><div>Velo3D is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in our manufacturing facility in Fremont, CA.  In this role, you will drive continuous improvement, resolving manufacturing issues, and ensuring product reliability/quality through the product lifecycles. You will also influence all aspects of the production process flow from new product development, subsystem assembly at local and global contract manufacturers, and system assembly and integration testing.</div><div> </div><div>The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced dynamic environment, has a “take-charge” “can-do” attitude, and can demonstrate flexibility and resiliency.  Ability to collaborate cross functionally and have hands on experience with building, assessing, and executing complex assembly iterations. </div><br><br><h3>Essential Functions</h3><ul><li>Work in collaboration with hardware, software, process, applications engineering, production team (manufacturing), quality, supply chain on DFX and continuous  improvement initiatives.</li><li>Work on initiatives such as Process Improvement, End of Life, PLM, and Root Cause Analysis on non-conformances.</li><li>Develop, document, and deploy unit tests for mechanical, electrical and optical components and subsystems.</li><li>Collaborate  with quality to support compliance with standards (ISO9000, AS9100)</li><li>Propose  and deliver continuous improvement projects (CIP) using 5s and Lean principles to improve product quality, decrease cost, and reduce cycle times.</li><li>Guide new product introduction to manufacturing from prototype through pilot and production release.</li><li>Create and update assembly and testing documentation, drawings, etc.</li><li>Create, support and review ECO’s and follow through the CCB process to closure.</li><li>Involved  with MRB activities and disposition of discrepant material.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>B.A./B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a hardware engineering field required.</li><li>2 to 5 years experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in a Capital Equipment Manufacturing environment.</li><li>Familiar  utilizing CAD systems and providing DFX for various mechanical and electrical designs including modeling and drawing creation with GD&amp;T.</li><li>Experience through the full product lifecycle, from concept through production including familiarity with PLM.</li><li>Hands-on experience with building and assembly.</li><li>Ability  to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical assemblies and systems.</li><li>Able to write manufacturing and test procedures.</li><li>Reading  schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems by tracing a signal from start to finish through multiple cables, sensors,  etc. using Digital Multi-Meter and other electronic test equipment/tools.</li><li>Knowledge of sensors (pressure transducers, oxygen sensors, VFDs etc.)</li><li>Mechanical tool use such as drills, taps, etc.</li></ul><br><div><b>About the Company:</b></div><div> </div><div>Velo, Velo3D, Sapphire and Intelligent Fusion are registered trademarks of Velo3D, Inc.
