Job Summary

We have created a new Director role responsible for leading Bird’s approach to identifying, developing and activating partnerships with a focus on integrating Bird into transportation planning, and ensuring our service is equitable and accessible. The ideal candidate will have a stellar track record of managing teams. This position will help to encourage the development of policies that continue to expand our sharing service and our other business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute Bird’s plans for partnering with other transportation modes, and ensuring our service is equitable and accessible
  • Utilize expertise in transportation planning and public sector to help Bird become an essential component of urban mobility, and to help our cities create safe streets prioritizing non-auto modes.
  • Represent the company with elected officials, regulators, public transportation agencies, multi-stakeholder policy groups, advocates for persons with disabilities, and equity advocates
  • Shape the industry through key engagements with third party advocates

Requirements

  • 10+ year track record of success in government, policy, public affairs, an operating company, consulting or law that includes a demonstrated history of shaping public opinion and regulations
  • Interest in traveling to meet and understand potential advocates in person and to work flexible hours in a global company
  • Experience and ability to speak in public forums; conferences and with with media
  • Capacity to perform under tight deadlines in a fluid environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Must be quick to synthesize and respond to new information while continuing to drive team priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.A., MPA, MS Urban Planning, or MBA
