We are in search of an exceptional Accounts Payable Manager to provide strong leadership to our Accounts Payable department and to ensure that the department runs smoothly.

To succeed as an accounts payable manager, you should be focused on optimizing department processes and building lasting relationships with others within and outside of the business. You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist, guide, and instruct a team of approximately 6 people on all department priorities and objectives
  • Perform supervisory functions for the accounts payable department, including interviewing and recommending the hiring of new staff members; providing or arranging for training for staff; evaluating staff performance; and recommending personnel actions to ensure adequate and competent staffing
  • Serve as the main AP contact on escalated issues or transaction problems which require resolutions
  • Implement reporting procedures and internal controls for the purpose of maintaining accurate records
  • Maintain various fiscal information, files, and records for providing complete actual data and audit trail for compliance
  • Plan work assignments, evaluate work performed, and provide direction and decisions in handling procedural and technical problems. Monitor work outcomes and provide metric data for management
  • Participate in monthly close activities and perform month end reconciliation of A/P Aging Report to the trial balance in collaboration with other members of the Accounting Team
  • Lead month end close tasks, including monthly expense accruals
  • Maintain vendor data for the preparation of the 1099 tax forms
  • Lead weekly automated payment runs globally
  • Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation (e.g., purchase orders, vendors, invoices, etc.) for ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Netsuite and Zendesk knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize - at times you will have conflicting tasks, so must be able to effectively manage time and prioritize work.
  • Strong communication skills - you will be working with a variety of individuals and key stakeholders, so must be able to translate what is said and effectively communicate.
  • Flexibility - we are a young company, so things change on a daily basis. We need someone who is adaptable and comfortable with change.
  • High Emotional EQ - because instructions can change frequently, we need an intellectual, mature team player who can own their work
