Senior IT Specialist

The Senior IT Specialist is responsible for EnergySage’s computer equipment, software (nearly all cloud-based), and networks to ensure seamless team operations as we navigate the return to a physical office and a rapidly growing, hybrid workforce utilizing in-person and remote collaboration tools.

Your expertise in analyzing and managing our current systems and assets, recommending and implementing new solutions and upgrades, and providing training will power our efficiency and support our significant growth. 

The Senior IT Specialist, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, will join the Engineering Team in Boston, MA during an exciting time in EnergySage’s expansion.

What you’ll do:

  • Help define IT strategy, architecture and processes.
  • Continuously analyze current processes, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement (equipment procurement & provisioning, account setup).
  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, laptops (we're a Mac shop), software and office. infrastructure: WiFi/network, teleconferencing equipment, printers and office phones.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration: account (de)provisioning, equipment purchasing, equipment (de/re)provisioning, inventory management; including setting up equipment and accounts for new hires.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT.
  • Deliver software support, mostly MacOS and cloud applications such as GSuite, Dropbox, and 1Password.
  • Ensure the security of our endpoints, networks, and cloud applications including email security and single sign-on.
  • Train employees on software, hardware, and security best practices.

What we look for: 

  • 2-5 years of experience working in IT Operations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, and teleconferencing systems.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, project management and decision making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Bachelor’s/Associate’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
