QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. Our leap in energy density and charge rate is enabled by a different chemistry and cell architecture which also benefits safety. Our quick progress is due in part to a state-of-the-art laboratory facility, highly automated data collection and analysis, and a strong and clear set of values.
We are seeking a highly-motivated battery researcher to further improve the performance of our novel solid-state batteries. You will learn how the technology works, develop new techniques for device characterization, and work with the broader team to improve our materials and processing.
What you will do:Design and implement novel cell platforms to ensure reliable characterization of our state-of-the-art devicesProbe underlying mechanisms of cell behavior to improve performance across a larger operating windowAnalyze and interpret physical and electrochemical data to inform experimental design and drive cell developmentCollaborate with colleagues from multiple fields to optimize solutions and ensure that process specifications and device performance goals are metOrganize and communicate findings to the larger team
Experience and education:BS or MS in materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related fieldExperience conducting experiments in a laboratory setting
Skills and Knowledge:You have a sound understanding of materials science and chemistry fundamentalsYou are self-motivated and have a track record of learning new skills and techniques, and applying those to achieve resultsYou thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changesYou are a strong communicator and enjoy working on a team to tackle complex challengesYou share our passion for our mission
