Job Description

We’re on a mission to electrify cars by building the next generation of energy storage technology! Do you want to make a major contribution to this critical part of the future energy economy? As a member of the test and data analytics team, you will help us extract valuable metrics electrical data and identify ways to predict battery performance from early cycling data. What you will do:
Develop battery testing protocols to understand long term performance.
Analyze electrical metrics to predict performance and cycle life.
Build models to forecast device behavior.
Lead cross-departmental efforts in using electrical response data to inform device improvements.
Minimum requirements:
Education & Experience
M.Sc. or a B.S. +2 years of experience in applied data science, applied physics, materials science, electrical engineering, chemistry, or a related field. Preferably working in electrochemistry or battery materials.
Deep understanding on the internal structure and workings of a lithium-ion, or other types of primary or secondary batteries.
Experience in writing electrical test recipes, including battery cycling and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
Examples of evaluating electrical test metrics.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
You have a curious, hands-on approach to self-motivated problem-solving.
You are a strong communicator and love working in a fast-paced, team environment.
Your time-management and organizational skills allow you to balance multiple high-impact projects.
You apply your resourcefulness to develop new skills, and you’re not shy about asking questions.
You share a real passion for our mission.
Any of the following is particularly helpful:
Scientific programming experience in Python, R, MATLAB, Julia, or JSL (JMP).
Experience working with querying large datasets in SQL or other database software.
