GFL is looking for a talented, experienced Senior Cloud Ops Engineer to join our growing Cloud Ops Team. The senior engineer will be responsible for GFL DevSevOps Cloud Operations infrastructure and platforms including availability, performance, capacity, security and availability. The senior engineer will provide technical leadership to the more junior team members, and technical reporting to management. As a senior engineer you will maintain close working relationships with other teams across the IT organization including Development, Enterprise IT, Enterprise Architecture and Service Delivery. Using these close relationships with development and operations teams as a platform to promote the DevOps culture and best practices. You will ensure that your technical team has the tools and behaviors needed to succeed, mentoring those that need support in technical and process related areas. As part of the GFL IT Operations team you will be heavily involved in the migration of legacy products and platforms to new cloud hosting platforms, while ensuring the products that cannot be rearchitected are still functional. The main target of the re-platforming work will be AWS and part of the role will include leading and reporting on tool feasibility and implementation work. Ansible (Under Evaluation): As we look to streamline and enhance our infrastructure management, we are in the process of evaluating Ansible as a potential configuration management and automation tool. Your expertise and input will be valuable in this assessment. 6. GitHub (Under Evaluation): We are in the midst of evaluating a transition from AZDO to GitHub for source code management, collaboration, and DevOps workflows. Your involvement will be instrumental in this assessment and migration process. 7. Cloud (Under Consideration): While we have been utilizing Terraform for our infrastructure management, we are actively considering a move to Terraform Cloud or a similar solution to further enhance our infrastructure orchestration and collaboration capabilities. 8. OPA REGO (or Similar, Desired): Experience with Open Policy Agent (OPA) and the Rego policy language is a plus.
