Our Fraud Risk team identifies and drives the system, controls, and operational processes to provide the best customer experience for Aspiration customers. The Fraud Risk team works behind the scene to deliver great products and services to our account and cardholders and directs appropriate end-to-end fraud controls for fit-for-purpose ongoing and onboarding controls. 
As a member of the Fraud Strategy, you will be responsible for the strategies and initiatives that help protect the business from losses. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to develop sophisticated strategies, perform cutting-edge analysis and drive meaningful and challenging projects that improve the customer experience and deliver improved profitability for our business. You will have exposure to Senior Leadership and be part of a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing division within Aspiration.

What You'll Do

  • Design experiments to ensure that meaningful insights can be obtained from tests.
  • Use statistical analysis techniques to quantify the impact of tests.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor the performance of existing fraud strategies and present findings concisely and effectively via related reports and presentations.
  • Automate repetitive analyses utilizing R,  Python, SQL, Looker
  • Identify and provide recommendations regarding new opportunities to improve business processes in the context of fraud strategy.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners across the enterprise, including Operations and Implementation, to deliver a world-class customer experience and meet business objectives.
  • Post--mortem write-ups regarding Incidents or experiments and emphasize methodology and results
  • Complete additional Ad hoc requests as necessary.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ Years of data analytics experience
  • Fraud and Banking experience preferred
  • 2+ years experience applying statistical modeling and inference.
  • 2+ years SQL programming experience is required
  • Ability to apply high level analytical, statistical and quantitative problem-solving skills to make actionable recommendations based on outcomes
  • Ability to source and work with large amounts of data from different data sources; Python, SQL, R are preferred, experience with Looker a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Consumer banking Industry is preferred.
