Our range of research &amp; development, engineering, prototype manufacturing, test &amp; validation, and low-rate production capability help our customers bring their high-quality products to market faster.OVERVIEW:  The Level II Mechanic would have an important role on the Corvette Racing Team and have responsibilities both at the shop and track.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:  Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Mechanic Oversight<ul><li>Provide direction, communicate requirements, and ensure accountability to team and company objectives.</li><li>Mentoring and training of Junior and Level 1 mechanics to align process and quality of work with overall team expectation.</li><li>Identify opportunities for improvement and lead the plan to realize improvements.</li><li>Support and guide Level 1 and Junior Mechanics to follow processes and use resources available to complete tasks accurately and timely.</li></ul>Vehicle Preparation<ul><li>Prepare vehicle ahead of each event ensuring that all pre-event development tasks have been accounted for.</li><li>Work closely with Car chief and Race Engineer to prioritize vehicle reliability and performance development.</li><li>Car assemblies to the prints and engineering requirements.</li><li>Refine and develop thorough practices and understanding of all subsystems of the vehicles.</li></ul>Spare Inventory and Tracking<ul><li>Utilizing Corvette database software to track mileage.</li><li>Working with Operations Manager and Pratt Miller departments to order spares as required.</li></ul>Trackside Execution<ul><li>Responsible to ensure that the mechanics and the car are ready to execute all phases of the event:   </li></ul><ul><li>Vehicle service and preparation</li><li>Pit stop execution – Tire changing.</li><li>Additional team tasks (setup/teardown/etc.)</li></ul>Shop Execution<ul><li>Organization and cleanliness of work area.</li></ul>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.<ul><li>Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development as necessary.</li><li>Provide feedback on product needs and processes.</li><li>Develop leadership skills.Work with the Car Chiefs, Engineers, and Operation Manager to create a common level of preparation on racecars.</li><li>Positive and team-first attitude.</li><li>Look for and identify ways to improve your skillset.</li><li>Bring any issues to the Car Chiefs and Operations Manager for solutions.</li><li>Help with feedback on long-term racecar planning.</li><li>Understand and refine the skills and knowledge needed to accurately make changes to the car trackside.</li><li>Focus on learning and enhancing understanding of the vehicle systems.</li><li>Additional team tasks (setup/teardown/etc.).</li></ul>EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>5 years or greater of Motorsports experience with a focus on mechanical vehicle preparation, car development, and event execution.</li><li>Experience working in a small team to achieve program goals and continuously improve.</li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:<ul><li>Stress may occur periodically.</li><li>Physical labor is a regular part of daily work.</li></ul>EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: <ul><li>Long hours may be required at times.</li></ul>Pay Range: $72,200.00 - $116,200.00<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div>The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
