RoleQuantumScape is seeking a highly-motivated researcher to further improve the performance of our novel solid-state battery materials. You will learn how the technology works, develop new techniques for device fabrication and characterization, and work with the broader team to improve our materials and processing.What you will do:Characterize physical and electrochemical properties of battery materials and devices using state-of-the-art analytical methodsDevelop new methods for cell assembly and teardownCollaborate with colleagues from multiple fields to ensure that process specifications and device performance goals are metDeliver high-quality technical reports to colleagues
Skills & Knowledge:You have a sound understanding of materials science fundamentalsYou are self-motivated and have a track record of learning new skills and techniques, and applying those to achieve resultsYou thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changesYou are a strong communicator and enjoy working on a team to solve complex challengesYou share our passion for our mission
Minimum Requirements:MS in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related technical field or BS with a minimum of 2 years experience in a research and development role
Highly Desired:Hands-on research experience in device assembly or failure analysis experience from a relevant industryFamiliarity with electrochemistry or energy storage-related technologies
