We are supported by leading investors who share a common belief that low-cost, multi-day energy storage will be a key enabler of tomorrow’s zero carbon electric system.
Role DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for the Policy Manager for New York to lead Form Energy’s regulatory, state agency, legislative, and NYISO advocacy efforts to ensure that multi-day storage is woven into all state plans to achieve a zero carbon electric grid. You’ll be responsible for securing incentives, procurement programs, and changes to market designs to support Form Energy’s commercial goals. The policy advocacy work you will lead in New York will include direct advocacy, coalition building, partnerships with trade organizations, and thought leadership. This multifaceted role is an opportunity to build upon your policy successes and network in New York to become a leading voice helping the state chart a course to a clean electric grid enabled by renewable energy and energy storage.

  • Independently develop specific policy proposals that position Form as a recognized thought leader in New York and that gain broad acceptance
  • Lead the development of high-quality, accessible and persuasive policy documents for a range of contexts, including the Department of Public Utilities, NYSERDA, NYISO, the legislature and potentially across multiple states
  • Proactively build coalitions with local and national NGOs, trade organizations, and peer companies to advance progress on novel, high-priority policy issues
  • Collaborate with Form's analytics, commercial and product teams to communicate key market trends and provide insightful research to inform commercial strategy and product design decisions
  • Independently represent Form’s interests before senior government officials and in public forums
  • Oversee the selection and direct the day-to-day work of local lobbyists and consultants
  • Travel as necessary to meet with policymakers

What You'll Bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of New York’s electric sector policy landscape, including deep knowledge of the state’s political dynamics and relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record of having a leadership role in successful efforts to secure notable policy changes related to clean energy in both regulatory and legislative contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-level, high-stakes engagements with senior officials, environmental NGOs, industry representatives and other key stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of the analytical tools used in electric resource planning and reliability studies, and ability to critically evaluate the inputs and outputs of such analysis to inform advocacy efforts
  • Keen strategic capacity, and an ability to quickly refine ideas and strategies in response to changing technical, policy, or political considerations
  • Resourcefulness and a track record of being a successful team player capable of collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Clear, concise, and engaging verbal and written communication
