Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Design Manager who is passionate about delivering world class facility designs to join our Site Operations team. The role entails delivery of design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to build. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, construction and project management. The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and a vision for the future of our growth.  The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, can identify challenges and drive the internal teams and contract teams to execute.  Must achieve collaboration between technical teams, Construction, R&D and operations and always align with the company goals. Expect a rewarding yet demanding and fast-paced environment,  being self‐motivated and disciplined is critical.

What You'll Do:

  • Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of construction; including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%
  • Define strategies for construction and permit packages
  • Manage the design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development through completion
  • Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s
  • Manage internal customer requests and align with program managers on best delivery to support company goals
  • Capture stakeholder’s requirements and translate them into project deliverables
  • Participate in the project funding requests in collaboration with the capital project manager
  • Coordinate project schedules with capital projects team for the overall schedule success of the project
  • Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during construction
  • Identify resource requirements and contract the necessary resources to accomplish project goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the various cross-functional teams to ensure overall program alignment
  • Develop different project delivery methods including design bid build, integrated project development, and fast track projects
  • Suggest new and innovative engineering and design methodologies to support aggressive program and construction schedules

What You'll Bring:

  • B.S. in (Architectural preferred), civil, mechanical, structural, M.S preferred but not required
  • 5 years experience managing multi-disciplinary work within A/E firms
  • Experience with managing designs for R&D labs, offices and manufacturing spaces
  • Fully understanding all site development engineering disciplines and be able to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resources
  • Proven record in delivery of Issue For Bid, IFPermit and IFConstruction packages
  • Experience designing R&D facilities, workplace and site infrastructure development
  • Strong experience working with AHJ’s and be able to build strong relationship with local jurisdictions
  • Advanced project management skills, demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals 
  • Subcontractor and consulting firm management experience
  • Ability to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical team members effectively
  • Positive, enthusiastic, self directed mindset and passionate about project results
  • Thrives under pressure and is comfortable pivoting with the changing environment
  • Willingness to travel to support infrastructure development as required in North America
  • Construction Project Management experience is a plus
