Do you want to learn about and work in the future energy economy? Quantumscape is seeking a motivated Materials Manager for our Manufacturing team. You will be playing a meaningful role in developing our Materials management systems and processes. As the Materials Manager, you will recruit, lead, and develop a materials team that will include supervisors, operators, and technicians. This team will orchestrate the movement of production materials throughout the Quantumscape production line.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure safety and conduct policies are prioritized and met among employees.
Build and continuously develop a strong, motivated production team.
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Organize and handle the movement of production materials to various module workstations.
Monitor and report on production KPI’s as needed to technical and management teams.
Interface with cross-functional production teams to synchronize the movement of materials throughout the production line.
Mentor and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators.
Facilitate the development and deployment of standard works whenever a gap is identified.
Recommend and implement changes to systems and processes in order to improve cost, delivery, and quality.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
5+ years of experience managing teams of people. Industry experience in lithium-ion batteries or semi-conductor line management is preferred.
Experience working in development programs a plus.
BS or MS degree and/or evidence of outstanding experience.
Can demonstrate an ability to achieve deadlines and perform under high pressure.
Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills.
Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent computer and systems knowledge: Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and line management tools, including MES/SCADA systems, production line scheduling, and TPM.
Balance multiple projects on a fast-paced schedule, while taking care of some vagueness in a high output environment.
Strong collaboration with a focus on promoting teamwork while growing your internal network.
