Title: HSE Specialist   The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Specialist will lead health, safety, and environmental efforts on project sites during construction and will support long-term as needed throughout asset operation.  The HSE Specialist will proactively address risks and concerns relating to health, safety, and or environment with robust training programs, both for internal team members, as well as with external contractors.  This role will actively contribute to meeting or exceeding compliance standards by conducting regular inspections and audits, as well as managing applicable reporting systems.  The HSE Specialist will collaborate closely with various members of the EPC, Asset Management, and Operations departments at East Point Energy and will report directly to the Director of Operations.    Roles &amp; Responsibilities:  <ul><li>Develop and lead safety programs and activities, tailored to individual site and project needs as required </li><li>Serve as the on-site HSE representative during construction/commissioning activities, as well as oversee warranty &amp; maintenance activity compliance during operations </li><li>Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with contractors </li><li>Review proposals to evaluate counterparty expertise and compliance with East Point Energy HSE standards.</li><li>Conduct vendor and contractor evaluations and provide feedback to ensure we are partnering with high -quality vendors</li><li>Document, track, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics, trends, and necessary reports</li><li>Conduct and/or support investigations for incidents, accidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and follow up to ensure corrective measures are implemented</li><li>Identify, monitor, and correct HSE and quality deficiencies and formulate necessary reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards  </li><li>Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, document findings, and recommend actions</li><li>Maintain and inspect safety equipment and personal protective equipment on site  </li><li>Carry out timely and appropriate incident responses  </li><li>Perform system walkdowns to verify installation is in accordance with designs, specifications, and HSE standards  </li><li>Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned </li></ul> Skills: <ul><li>Demonstrated knowledge coordinating processes and work activities, providing leadership in a team environment, and achieving results by influencing others </li><li>Demonstrated leadership ability to inspire a culture of safety and continuous improvement</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience with site construction processes and safety and environmental compliance </li><li>Excellent ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with contractors through all phases of the project lifecycle</li><li>Proficiency with project management applications and platforms </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, etc.)  </li><li>Ability to communicate across a broad spectrum of technical understanding - written, verbal and non-verbal  </li><li>Must be able to walk unassisted over uneven ground, stand for prolonged periods of time, and carry items weighing over 50 pounds</li></ul> Characteristics of an ideal candidate: <ul><li>Passion for renewable energy development and the environment </li><li>Creative problem-solving ability and solutions-oriented mindset </li><li>Self-starter with a desire to succeed and a focus on creating value </li><li>Team player and leader, proactive attitude </li><li>Organized, attention to detail </li><li>Committed to continuous learning and remaining updated on industry trends and regulations</li><li>Comfortable with a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment </li><li>Comfortable working and collaborating in a matrixed organization </li><li>Ability to make informed decisions quickly and a bias for action </li><li>Integrity and accountability </li></ul> Education &amp; Experience: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or equivalent formal training in the HSE fieldincluding but not limited to GSP, CHST, ASP, or CSP</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience managing health, safety, and environment needs for renewable energy projects  </li><li>Knowledge of and proven track record meeting or exceeding compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards  </li><li>OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500 preferred </li><li>Familiarity with safety systems and programs, risk analysis and management, emergency response systems, and crisis management procedures  </li></ul> Travel &amp; Time Commitment: <ul><li>This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. Standard project site work hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The demands of projects may require work outside of these stated hours.  </li><li>This is a project site-based position. The position will be fully remote from the East Point Energy offices, with a requirement for site presence on project sites.
