Supply Chain Specialist

About the Role:

As a Supply Chain Specialist at AppHarvest, you will be joining a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture. Each Supply Chain Specialist will be solely responsible for material supply levels at their respective farm. They will work closely with their farm’s general manager, head grower, and packhouse manager to ensure sufficient levels of materials are always available to achieve AppHarvest’s goal of delivering fresh produce to consumers. Additionally, they will work externally to their farm with the broader supply chain team developing supply strategies to ensure companywide financial goals are met. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Analyze and implement innovative supply opportunities that deliver the best competitive advantage to support the harvest and packaging forecast 
• Maintain accurate inventory of greenhouse and packhouse supplies
• Work closely with the procurement team to ensure on time deliveries of purchased materials
• Maintain and analyze the harvest forecast, challenging as necessary to support accurate supply usage and ordering
• Work effectively in cross-functional environment between greenhouse operations, technology, finance, logistics, etc. 
• Act as a liaison to the Manager of Supply Chain to ensure proper communication of events taking place at the site
• Coordinate and assist with resolving operational issues across the sites end to end supply chain.  

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in a supply chain or related role  
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred 
• Advanced Degree, supply chain and/or related certification a plus  
• Collaborative and innovative spirit   
• Produce timely, high quality work and achieve results with minimal oversight  
• Great communications skills, especially with internal customers and vendors  
• Comfortability presenting data to groups including senior executives 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central (Dynamics) or similar ERP preferred  
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
