Role DescriptionThe Warehouse Manager position is part of the Operations Team and provides the critical function of managing the day-to-day activities of shipping, receiving, storage, stocking and inventory of a fast-paced Engineering/R&D team. Having the right parts, equipment, and materials in the correct location ready for use is a critical and necessary function for the success of the team and achieving corporate goals. You will bring the experience, confidence and knowledge to execute the current shipping, receiving and inventory systems and continuously improve the systems.  Personable team member that can work closely with the engineering, lab management, and procurement leads. Your primary customers are the employees in  CA, and you will provide support and coordination to the PA and MA Form Energy teams for cross country transfers of materials.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the warehouse: shipping, receiving, packaging, storage/stocking,  logistics, and inventory management
  • Ensure safety and housekeeping of the loading docks, shipping, receiving and warehouse are maintained to high standards
  • Set up and maintain ERP or similar systems to monitor and maintain inventory levels of critical project parts to assure the parts never run out
  • Provides day-to-day inventory control support to technical teams with assembly and distribution areasNotify the purchasing team via ERP or similar process of low inventory (RO)
  • Oversee and create physical inventory cycle counting best practices
  • Develop and manage relationships with vendors, 3pl, packaging services and a variety of warehousing and logistics companies   
  • Manage inventory for multiple regional locations, vendors, and 3PL’s
  • Respond to internal and external audits of goods, materials, and equipment
  • Monitor and reorder warehouse supplies. Incoming receiving QC to determine physical and financial variances in orders, conducting received package inspections and manage defective receipts
  • Asset tag and record all incoming capital equipment
  • Ensure all international shipments comply with Export Administration Regulations and all domestic shipments are properly prepared meeting DOT, IATA and applicable standards
  • Monitor proper handling of HAZMAT, Chemicals and ensures EHS is informed of any anomalies or new chemicals received
  • Creates excellent communications to inform site tenants of package receipts and any delivery challenges for technical build areas

What You'll Bring:

  • A successful candidate will bring a 5-10 years of progressively increasing responsibilities for warehouse processes and people management
  • Experience as a super user or admin in Netsuite, InMass, SAP or other WMS software systems
  • Experience managing warehouses in R&D environment, with a lot of change in standard inventories and high amount of unique custom packages
  • Strong computer skills including;  inventory tools, cloud-based google suite, and ERP systems  
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of people in the organization
  • Current knowledge of all applicable shipping, and storage standards for permitting, safety and compliance 
  • Experience, start-up environment experience, and good planning skills
  • Ability to re-prioritize and adapt to the needs of the build plans or research while maintaining required documentation, processes, and standards
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining warehouse systems
  • Develop close relationships with procurement, supply chain and logistics team
  • Experience and certifications in the preparation of shipping documents for domestic and international, import, tariff, taxes hazardous material shipping
  • Clear understanding of warehouse fundamental practices such as FIFO, LIFO, dwell times, shelf life, shelf loading, material handling or other best practices
  • Experienced forklift operator, other material handling equipment is a plus
