Furthermore, this person will ensure that the products manufactured are of the highest quality while using the most cost-effective methods.  Maximize productivity output using raw materials, and ensuring safety, environmental waste conservation &amp; efficient resource consumption to achieve the plant goals.  Direct responsibility to handle plant floor activities, checking procedures, and monitoring costs.  Enforces &amp; adheres to all elements of the QMS.<h2>Principal Responsibilities</h2>Health, Safety &amp; Environment / Quality<ul><li>Ensures a safe working environment for all employees.</li><li>Enforces &amp; adheres to all plant health, safety, &amp; environmental programs; see attachment for specific responsibilities (QMS / Elements).</li><li>Manages staff activities to ensure that the products manufactured daily meet quality and budget as set by the daily schedule.  Identifies performance and quality issues and formulates action plans to rectify problems as variances occur.</li><li>Understand and comply with local health and safety legislative requirements.</li><li>Train workers to perform work safely and recognize potential and actual danger in the workplace</li><li>Ensure workers work in compliance with corporate and site-specific safety rules and legislation.</li><li>Provide written instructions to workers for the safe operation of all equipment.</li><li>Identify safety-training needs for all employees annually.</li><li>Orient all new/promoted employees as per site specific requirements</li></ul>Production<ul><li>Leads the execution of the production schedule in an effective manner.</li><li>Prepare operating reports to summarize production, downtime, scrap rates, change over times and variance performance by machine and by shift in the production area.  Keep plant management informed of deviations from plan and engages appropriate resources in problem resolution.</li><li>Leads the development of a culture where 5S and housekeeping are maintained at world-class levels and there is genuine pride in the workplace.</li><li>Engage all members of the team in continuous improvement and drive world-class results.</li><li>Use HR processes and systems to develop the potential of all team members and proactively deal with performance issues.</li><li>Build and maintain effective and positive relationships with other managers at the site and in corporate functions, and collaboratively build and execute plans to optimize the value stream and achieve operational excellence.</li><li>Inspire team members to be engaged and motivated, by communicating effectively, supporting stake-holders’ needs, and recognizing celebrating individual and team achievements.</li><li>Implement principles of LEAN and develop continually expanding front-line engagement in leading the day-to-day management of operations and maintenance of the workplace.</li></ul>People<ul><li>Contribute to the development of Best Place to Work objective.</li><li>Ensure that Group organizational standards for management for Health and Safety,</li></ul>       and problem solving and other lean methods, techniques, and processes.<ul><li>Attends to individual needs to help develop a culture of change leadership.</li><li>Participates in the training and development of plant employees</li><li>Track and report program progress and discuss findings with plant leadership.</li></ul><h2>Required Skills/Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Completion of College or University with combined with 5 years manufacturing and supervisory experience where change management skills have been developed.</li><li>A consistent track record in Change Management,  Continuous Improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S) in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Excellent leadership, initiative, organization, and management skills; written and verbal communication; problem solving; and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>A solid understanding of software applications such as ERP/MES systems, MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.</li><li>The candidate must be able to assess the requirements of a fast-growing business and respond with the right strategic direction.</li><li>Proven leadership experience in companies that have undergone spectacular growth and/or significant change.</li></ul>
