Own and critically review entire analysis process. </li><li>Build finite element models and perform hand calculations to verify structural integrity across Epirus’s product lines. </li><li>Coach and mentor teammates and serve as mechanical design / analyst lead on product design teams </li><li>Experience deriving structural requirements &amp; load cases for large-scale mechanical systems and flowing down requirements into subsystems. </li><li>Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop requirements, design, and build electromechanical systems that survive harsh environments encountered during operation and transport<span> </span></li></ul><h2> </h2><h2><span>Required Qualifications:</span></h2><ul><li><span>BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural or similar engineering field and 8+ years of experience in structural design &amp; stress analysis of metallic structures (or 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree).</span> </li><li>Expert level comfort with Finite Element Analysis and structural hand calculations. </li><li>Experience with structural analysis and pre/post processing software packages such as Nastran, FEMAP, Ansys, NX-CAE, Patran or equivalent. </li><li>Experience analyzing systems under static loading, shock, and vibrational environments including random vibration. </li><li>Experience with CAD and practical application of GD&amp;T. </li><li>Experience with environmental test and qualification of mechanical systems.<span> </span></li></ul><h2> </h2><h2><span>Desired Qualifications</span></h2><ul><li><span>Experience designing / analyzing actuated mechanical systems including azimuth and elevation pointing mechanisms.</span> </li><li>Experience performing stress analysis of electronic systems such as circuit card assemblies. </li><li>Good written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization. </li><li>Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.<span> </span></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>ITAR REQUIREMENTS:</strong> </p><ul><li>To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
