About this opportunity The Shift Leader has day-to-day accountability for supervising the team of Production Operators, safely delivering the shift production targets, supporting maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Shift Leader has day-to-day accountability for supervising the team of Production Operators, safely delivering the shift production targets, supporting maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.<ul><li>Day shifts available - 6:00 am to 2:00 pm</li></ul>Your key responsibilities will be to:<ul><li>Work with the Production Manager to deliver on daily and weekly production schedule, achieving optimum production efficiencies and DIFOT.</li><li>Ensure measures are in place for all employees to perform at their best at the start of each shift.</li><li>Ensure that all Operators understand and follow the site SOPs.</li><li>Hold Operators accountable for achieving all quality standards.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards during their shift.</li><li>Build the capability of the team through monitoring skills, maintaining training schedules and delivering training to the team when needed.</li><li>Actively participate with meaningful feedback at start up and handover time on all production related activity. </li><li>Escalate any issues through the Production Manager to sales and logistics to ensure customer delivery on-time.</li><li>Be an active member of the operations team through open &amp; honest communication.</li></ul>Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you’ll have:<ul><li>Ideally have a background in plastics recycling</li><li>Worked in a similar industrial based manufacturing business</li><li>Sound background in managing and leading small teams</li><li>Worked in a 24/5 environment</li><li>Lean manufacturing experience</li></ul>
