SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a Manager, Corporate Accounting to join its team based in our Boston office. This position will report to the Vice President, Accounting. The Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for managing, developing and allocating work to the corporate accounting team; developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely monthly close. Evaluating and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for driving the monthly close process includes:
    • Review monthly inventory.
    • Preparation of revenue schedules for various revenue streams.
    • Review of capitalized project development schedules, fixed assets schedules, prepaid expense, rent allocation, accrual schedules and journal entries.
    • Review payroll and benefits entries.
    • Review and coaching staff on elimination entries including intercompany revenue, intercompany AP/ AR, intercompany rent, intra entity profit.
  • Review monthly sales tax, as applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with the AP team to ensure AP is closed on time, and review of AP accrual entries.
  • Review daily corporate cash reconciliation and guide staff on preparation for CFO review
  • Guide Senior Accountants in the execution of physical inventory counts.
  • Assist the financial reporting team in analyzing fluxes of the corporate financial statements
  • Prepare annual audit schedules and support and interfaces with auditors
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for management – including various department requests. Work closely with other departments to obtain information needed for the financial close, including inventory logistics, procurement, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, results oriented and operate well in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate should be prepared for increased responsibilities as they relate to the role in a rapidly growing company. Qualifications include:

  • Minimum 4 years of combined Private and/or Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to do research to find solutions for accounting issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the accounting team, executive management and all departments across the organization, as well as with external service providers such as auditors.
  • Experience with cash and account reconciliations and revenue accounting.
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Prior leadership/management responsibilities
  • Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Willing and able to adapt to a high energy, fast paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and efficient.
  • Robust analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills.
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow.
