This position will split their time between our Design and Test facilities in Santa Cruz (HQ) and San Carlos. This role will operate in a fast paced, demanding, and rewarding environment with very high expectations for individual contribution. </p><p> </p><p>Your primary responsibilities will include coordination and delivery of development and certification test articles, along with development of test asset management systems. Working with various engineering teams at Joby Aviation (including design, manufacturing, certification and more), the Technical Program Manager will develop and execute appropriate strategies and tactics that allow the company to achieve milestones on schedule and meet quality and financial requirements.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Own tracking and delivery of test articles in support of development testing and certification testing at the equipment, subsystem, and system level</li> <li>Develop best practices for test article definition and documentation, and support design release of test article drawings</li> <li>Work with factory systems team to develop automated test asset management tools that capture an articles test history and test data</li> <li>Work closely with Testing, Design, Certification, and Manufacturing teams, as well as with other supporting functions to align test article configuration, track material readiness, prioritize and coordinate test article assembly for hardware, including, but not limited to electric propulsion, propeller, battery pack, environmental control systems, etc. </li> <li>Collaborate with other Program Managers and integrated project teams to ensure convergence of company-level efforts to achieve key project and program milestones</li> <li>Create, maintain, communicate, and present schedules to multiple audiences, from individual contributors to executives</li> <li>Develop tools to facilitate the various reporting or planning functions described above</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor’s in engineering or relevant fields</li> <li>4+ years of experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing or managing change</li> <li>Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in the simultaneous management of multiple high-paced engineering projects</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of the product development cycle for hardware-centric projects from early design through to completion and launch</li> <li>Experience in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, and JIRA</li> <li>Proficient in common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software, etc.) </li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Experience with aerospace projects and FAA certification process is desired, but not required</li> <li>Experience working with high voltage electromechanical hardware (battery systems, electric motors, power inverters, etc.)</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is  $88,100 - $144,500/year.
