Job Description

Redaptive is looking for a highly motivated, experienced tax expert to facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s state and federal tax forms. The Senior Tax Manager will ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax law including accurate, timely filings. The ideal candidate will work with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. They will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies. This is a critical position for a growing company and an outstanding professional growth opportunity for a motivated individual interested in expanding their responsibilities as the company expands. This position reports to the VP, Principal Accounting Officer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with team.
  • Prepare and file consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and extensions including Forms 8858, 8992, and 5471.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions including calculation of: income tax liability, deferred tax assets/liabilities, uncertain tax positions, and journal entries and drafting of tax disclosures for financial statements.
  • Prepare and file approximately 50 monthly sales and use tax returns.
  • Manage correspondences with state agencies and provide necessary supporting documentation related to various tax matters including any tax audits that may arise.
  • Provide support with various internal and external financial audits. Provide guidance on tax matters in accordance with US GAAP and IRS guidelines.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
  • Oversee the Company’s outsourced tax firms engaged on special tax related projects including: international matters, complex debt transactions, Solar Investment Tax Credits, and federal/state strategic tax planning.
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Active CPA license.
  • 8-10 + years of relevant experience including recent progressive leadership experience at a public company.
  • Public accounting experience preferred. Extensive corporate tax knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
  • Familiarity with US federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, experience in effectively communicating key data, ability to work with all levels of management and across various functions.
  • Excellent Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
  • Resourceful with a proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to plan, initiate, monitor and implement projects within a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage a multi-location organization.
  • Ability to identify and execute operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve resource optimization.
  • Have an ergonomically correct and functional work-from-home workstation set up; amenable to working from home for the foreseeable future

Colorado applicants: The expected annualized salary compensation for this position is $138,148. This estimated salary represents the typical starting rate of candidates hired in Colorado. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include relevant experience, skills, and your remote work location. Redaptive offers subsidized medical, dental and vision plan coverage, a 401(k) match, participation in our equity plan, and an annual At-target incentive bonus opportunity of at least 10% of salary at 100% achievement (actual achievement % will vary).
