AECOM Buildings + Place, is seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Design Engineer to help lead buildings projects (commercial, institutional, light industrial facilities, such as Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Sewage Lift Stations) This position can be based out of Ottawa office with opportunities for hybrid work. Some travel to nearby cities may be required. This role offers opportunities for career growth. AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Municipal, Commercial, Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.  Major Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Developing various types of reports including schematic design, design development, building assessment, and design build/assist scope of work documents</li><li>Preparing electrical drawings and specifications</li><li>Implement design concept through the preparation and production of drawings to detail lighting, power, fire alarm, and specialty low voltage systems rough-ins (i.e. telecom., intrusion control, security, CCTV, door access controls, etc.)</li><li>Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project</li><li>Conduct necessary research to gather industry, field, and project specific data</li><li>Ensuring design conforms with all applicable codes and standards.</li><li>Working with prime consultants, engineering consultants, and contractors; responding to technical queries</li><li>Construction administration responsibilities:<ul><li>Attending site meetings and site reviews complete with reports</li><li>Shop drawing reviews</li><li>SI and CCN preparations.</li><li>Contractors change quotation reviews</li><li>Progress billing reviews</li><li>Fire alarm verification report reviews</li></ul></li><li>Able to work tight schedules, control project budgets and motivate staff to do the same</li><li>Sound judgment supported by excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment</li></ul> <ul></ul>
