Job Description

About the Role:

As a Logistics Supervisor at AppHarvest, you will be joining a team at the forefront of reinventing sustainable agriculture. The Logistics Supervisor is a leader. They will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our network of farms, warehouses, and distribution centers. They will also be the final quality check on outgoing shipments before they go to the customer.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead a team of logistics specialists to execute the shipping, receiving, and inventory management of all materials in and out of the greenhouse
  • Maintain high standards and create a culture of strong attention to detail in the greenhouse logistics team
  • Ensure that your department operates in accordance with and prioritizes health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all team members and visitors
  • Supervise and delegate logistics tasks including, incoming good receipts, proper replenishment of production line, and shipment of finished goods
  • Understand the customer specific goals and ensure that customer satisfaction is at the forefront of the day-to-day operations
  • Ensure the communication of daily and weekly goals to the team
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance indicators providing both positive and negative feedback to associates as needed
  • Schedule inbound and outbound shipments using customer service as the guide to plan
  • Train forklift operators throughout the facility
  • Relentless pursuit of a best-in-class warehouse and logistics environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years experience in a supply chain, procurement, and/or similar role preferred 
  • Supply chain and/or related certification a plus 
  • Empathetic leader with natural ability to develop and build inclusive teams  
  • Collaborative and innovative spirit  
  • High level of attention to detail - with personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work 
  • Great communications skills, especially with internal customers and vendors 
  • Technically savvy with proficiency in MS Excel - experience with MS Business Central (Dynamics) and/or similar ERP preferred
