Job Description

The Product Solutions Specialist will be part of the technology team at Project Canary and will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer and Product Manager. This person will be heavily customer facing and will act as a conduit between customer success and product. They should have a passion for combining technology with real-world problems to achieve impactful outcomes for our customers. This role would be a good fit for someone with a customer success or sales background who is looking to transition into a product role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert on our products, both hardware and software, and how they are used by our customers
  • Represent the technology team on calls with our oil and gas customers by explaining complex and technical features
  • Enable the customer success team to help customers leverage our existing product offerings in a way that best supports the customer’s operations
  • Distill feedback from multiple customers into actionable insights and well-defined problem statements for the product and engineering teams
  • Advocate for our oil and gas customers in the software planning and development processes
  • Assist in writing requirements for customer-centric enhancements to our software products
  • Carry out product acceptance testing on new features
  • Contribute to long-term planning and roadmap development

Requirements

Education and experience:

  • 3+ years of experience at a B2B SaaS company working in a technical capacity in sales, customer success, professional services, or something similar
  • An understanding of how software is built and how software can interact through APIs
  • Strong background in customer discovery
  • A basic understanding of agile software development processes
  • Experience working at an early-stage tech startup strongly preferred
  • Vaccination required

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in the oil & gas, environmental services, or any related industry
  • Basic knowledge of SQL to write custom queries for customers or internal teams
  • Prior experience working with a software engineering team in some capacity
  • Prior experience with technology that combines hardware and software
  • Previous use of a product analytics tool such as Pendo, Google Analytics, or Heap or any business analytics tools like PowerBI, Spotfire, or Looker.
