AECOM is looking for a Senior Environmental Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist for its Halifax, NS location. This is a full-time role.Job Summary: The role will be a combination of project management and technical work delivery, though the work can/may vary based on the applicant’s experience and career aspirations.This position is ideally suited to a Senior Environmental Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist with technical and project management strengths. This position will primarily shadow acting project managers as a deputy project manager on large multidisciplinary engineering projects, with the future goal to act as a project manager on such projects and pursue business development opportunities with local and government clientele.Additionally, there are opportunities for candidates who would like to continue to build their technical background to have access to training and careers opportunities if of interest.This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a range of projects, and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team. The successful candidate will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.Major Responsibilities: The job responsibilities for the position will include, but will not be limited to:<ul><li>Supervision or coordination of intermediate and junior staff conducting field programs to collect and analyze environmental data.</li><li>Management or coordination of long-term monitoring programs.</li><li>Review or coordination of project deliverables: workplans, technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawings, and detailed design packages.</li><li>Review and preparation of project specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates related to remedial options analysis and implementation.</li><li>Development and implementation of technical approaches or solutions as part of project team.</li><li>Performing project supervision, administration, and monitoring, including contract close out and reporting (both office and field duties).</li></ul> Project management responsibilities may include:<ul><li>Technical and quality coordination</li><li>Proposal and scope change preparation</li><li>Scope and budget tracking</li><li>Contract administration including obtaining purchase orders and subcontractor agreements</li><li>Collaborating and coordinate work with peers from the environment business, peers from other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and sub-consultants</li></ul>
