Our onboard system team’s software engineers provide a reliable and high-performance platform that allows our autonomy teams to integrate their autonomy software and algorithms that work across various self-driving platforms. This work requires close collaboration with our software teams, hardware teams, and systems/safety team to make sure new software and hardware work together safely and reliably, and resolve onboard error and performance problems.About the Work <ul><li>Work on a Linux-based system inside our vehicle</li><li>Collaborate with other software teams to build foundational libraries and interfaces, with emphasis on low-latency and consistent performance</li><li>Build state-of-the-art real-time scenario understanding and scoring systems inside our vehicle</li><li>Develop state-of-the-art ViT and energy-based models and optimize/deploy the models onboard to retain the long-tail scenarios</li><li>Build data logging strategies to maximize the relevance and value of retained data</li></ul>About You <ul><li>MS/PhD in Computer Science or 4+ years of equivalent industry experience</li><li>Strong system fundamentals and strong C++ skills</li><li>Solid experience developing production-quality software in C/C++, Python in areas like self-driving, robotics, embedded Linux system, telecommunication, and other technology industries.</li></ul>Bonus Points  <ul><li>Robotics experience, ML inference optimization experience, computer architecture experience</li><li>Experience with GPU programming or NVIDIA Orin Platform</li><li>Experience with Vision Transformers (ViT) and expertise in training and optimizing energy-based models for onboard deployment.</li></ul>At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $183,825 and $275,975 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply.
