You can read more about us in <a href="https://pacificfusion.com/updates/founders-letter">this letter from our founders</a>.<h1>About the Role</h1><h2>Job Overview:</h2>As the Facility Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the integration of mechanical requirements for our R&amp;D Facility. This demonstration system will achieve net facility gain, and will have its own site, facilities, and infrastructure. You will work across several teams defining and documenting mechanical and plumbing/process inputs for facility design. During construction you will work with design consulting engineering and contractors to ensure a quality installation which can be safely maintained.<h2>Responsibilities:</h2><ul style=""><li>Drive and own facility mechanical requirements and guidelines across Pacific Fusions systems engineering teams which are safe, efficient and reliable.</li><li>Interface with PF’s engineers, scientists, and technicians to obtain facilities mechanical and plumbing/process inputs.</li><li>Work with the Infrastructure Design Team to ensure PF’s mechanical and plumbing/process requirements are documented and designed appropriately for permitting design, construction, commissioning and operations.</li><li>Develop mechanical and plumbing/process equipment commissioning, maintenance and operations guidelines for our demonstration facility.</li><li>Manage mechanical and plumbing/process scope which includes risk analysis, risk management, data based decisions.</li><li>Build relationships with design consulting engineers, city mechanical and plumbing reviewers, and mechanical and piping contractors.</li><li>Work with infrastructure design consultants, PF’s project engineers and scientists, developer and contractors to define mechanical scope delineation between Infrastructure Engineering and Pacific Fusion engineering procured and installed systems.</li></ul><ul style=""><li>Lead by example - reflecting a cooperative problem solving approach which influences peers to be the best version of themselves.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul style=""><li>BS, Mechanical Engineering</li><li>Minimum 7+ years of experience working in design, construction, facilities operations, commissioning for industrial or manufacturing facilities.</li><li>Experience with HVAC, process piping, fire sprinkler, and plumbing systems.</li><li>Hands on experience with facilities operations and commissioning industrial and manufacturing facilities.</li><li>Strong multidisciplinary program management skills and ability to work diligently across cross functional teams.</li><li>Proactive, DOer, Self Starter mindset.</li><li>Cooperative and positive attitude which influences your peers to be the best version of themselves.</li><li>Track record of reliability and ability to drive results.</li></ul><h2>Preferred but not required:</h2><ul style=""><li>PE License</li><li>Experience working in a startup</li><li>Experience working in industries such as: fusion, energy, aerospace, chemicals</li><li>Experience working closely with PhD scientists and R&amp;D technology organizations</li></ul><h2>Benefits:</h2><ul style=""><li>Industry-competitive salary</li><li>Equity plan</li><li>6% employer 401k matching</li><li>Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance</li></ul>Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location.
