This team is developing edge-based vehicle detection and tracking AI models. <ul style=""><li>This is a C++ software engineering generalist role.  You will be delivering high quality C++ code that runs on edge devices.</li><li>You will build and improve the accuracy of ML / CV models, including refining open-source models to solve Hayden-specific problems.</li><li>Expect to collaborate with Product Management to translate customer needs to software solutions.</li><li>Hayden is a startup. You will be working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.</li><li>As Hayden begins an organizational scale-up phase, we need to build a rock-solid foundation. That means delivering well-designed and well-tested code that can be shared across the organization.</li></ul><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul style=""><li>Deliver bullet-proof, rigorously tested C++ code.</li><li>Iterate on our suite of real-time vehicle tracking and license plate reading systems.</li><li>Refine and optimize cloud-side image and video processing.</li><li>Deep dive into performance optimization, focusing on algorithms specifically for the Nvidia Jetson architecture.</li><li>Enhance the infrastructure and tooling used for performance analysis, ensuring efficient development cycles.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul style=""><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.</li><li>Background in Machine Learning, Image Processing, Computer Vision, or a similar field.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of industry experience.</li><li>Strong programming proficiency in C++.</li><li>Past experience collaborating with other software engineers. </li><li>Hayden is beginning a scale-up process within the organization. We need people who can function in a larger organization. </li></ul><h2>Ways to stand out</h2><ul style=""><li>In-depth knowledge and experience with embedded systems development.</li><li>Familiarity with CUDA/OpenCL programming and video processing pipelines.</li><li>Proficiency with common ML tools (e.g., Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch).</li><li>Familiarity managing data processing and machine learning code via GitHub.</li><li>Experience with iOS or Android mobile application development beyond UI.</li><li>Experience with ROS or other robotics systems.</li></ul>
